Whole Body Cryotherapy "WBC" is a fast & healthy process that accelerates the body's natural recovery while improving overall well-being and energizing the body.
WBC is a non-invasive, hyper-cooling process that lowers a person’s skin temperature to approximately 30ºF during a session of up to three minutes. While inside the Cryosauna™, the body is enveloped by -220ºF (-140ºC) air.
As you enter the Cryosauna the sudden drop in heat stimulates the temperature receptors, prompting the brain to transmit messages throughout the body. This withdraws blood from the body's core to try to regulate the temperature. When you exit the Cryosauna, blood is pumped vigorously around the body, which in turn enhances the oxygen supply and removal of toxins. The cold also triggers the nervous system to release feel-good endorphins, plus the body's natural anti-inflammatory reaction to extreme cold results in a pain reduction.
- Be completely DRY prior to entering the Cryosauna™;
- Disrobe and wear DRY socks/shoes, gloves, undergarments or shorts;
- Stand in the Cryosauna™ for up to 3 minutes while the body is enveloped by hyper-cooled air at -220ºF (-140ºC);
- The cryo-technician will elevate the electronic lift so that your shoulders are even with the top of the unit;
- During this session the cold air penetrates just 0.5mm into the skin, causing the skin's surface to cool to 30ºF;
- The timer goes off and automatically lowers the lift to allow you to exit;
- Get dressed, do some light stretches. Recover Faster. Play Harder!
WBC has become a popular process for helping with a variety of conditions as well as rejuvenating and revitalizing the body. For more than a decade, the Juka Cryosauna has completed 2+ million sessions with many location serving over 100 people a day.
For many professional athletes, ice baths are part a weekly routine. WBC takes away all the negative aspects of an ice bath such as the length of time and the initial dip while still giving you all the positives. Energy increases and muscles feel invigorated.
. . . And, no, you can't bring a note.
Fluctuations in blood pressure (due to peripheral vasoconstriction, systolic blood pressure may briefly increase by up to 10 points during session. This effect should reverse after the end of the procedure, as peripheral circulation returns to normal), allergic reaction to extreme cold (rare), claustrophobia, anxiety, activation of some viral conditions (cold sores) etc. due to stimulation of the immune system.
